Began the month of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, earlier this week, with the observation of the crescent, or new moon. Throughout
this ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observant Muslims must
abstain from food, drink and sex from dawn until sunset. The fasting, one of the five pillars of Islam, and a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, and charity. After
sunset, Muslims break the fasting usually by eating three dates, and
perform the Maghrib prayer, and sit down to breakfast, dinner Home,
where communities and families gather together. Collected
