On the occasion of the approaching World Youth Day - United Nations Volunteers announce his new activity.
UnitedNationsProgramfor volunteers.
Dear all,
On the occasion of the approaching International Youth Day – IYD - UNV
would like to tell you about a new and exciting " Success story of
Volunteers" documenting we are launching across the Arab Youth
Volunteering for a Better Future - AYV4BF-.
UNV members - just like you - are actively working towards social
change and achieving incredible results. We are looking to collect
member stories to learn about your inspirations and goals, as well as
the role of Volunteering has played in supporting you to reach success.
We are extremely inspired by the many approaches young people are taking
to making the world a better place and we want to recognize YOU!
How can you participate? It’s very simple - all you have to do is send
your member story to Mr. Mustafa Al-Sufi – the National Youth
Development Specialist- mustafa.al-sufi@undp.org before Thursday, July
25 at 6 PM Sana'a Time, and over the next few days, we will choose a
Success story of Volunteers to take the spotlight!
We also want
to tell you this year UNV HQ in Bonn are inviting young volunteers to
email their photos, videos, songs, stories, illustrations, or any other
items which they feel show the positive impact that youth volunteerism
brings to humanity. Following their example, and to support their
initiative, I would like to suggest that each organization provide a
“volunteer story”, accompanied with a photo, video or other graphic
material, of a young volunteer or youth-led organization that is
creating an impact on volunteerism and development in the country. You
can draw from your own acquaintances, from partner organizations who
work with young volunteers, other UN volunteers etc.
As well
as sending them to UNV HQ for IYD, these success stories are a key part
of the awareness-raising campaign, and will be published on our social
media, website and newsletter, amongst others
